The ISM Choir Bel Canto presents: a unique, once life experience - for the first time in Lithuania, the experienced masterpiece Human Requiem and one of the world's best professional choirs "Rundfunkchor Berlin" (Berlin Radio Choir)! Continuing the unique Open to the World project, the ISM Choir Bel Canto presents exceptional content and concert experience. This time, the legendary Grammy winner, Rundfunkchor Berlin with the world's experiences of critics and music gourmets worldwide, Human Requiem. The performance will be displayed for two evenings in a row - November 21 and 22 at 7 pm at the Litexpo Hall, which will turn into a unique concert space for these evenings. Human Requiem is the stage production of Johannes Brahms' German Requiem. This bold example of musical innovation goes beyond the traditional boundaries of classical music and invites viewers to a deep, emotionally impact experience. Before returning to the home scene, Radialsystem V, Berlin, Human Requiem in Vilnius, will become a historical event - the first performance of Berlin Radio Choir in the Baltic States for a century -old choir history. The performance is not only the main Open to the World '25, the leaders of the united world choral music, the highlight - its show in Vilnius will also become a bright symbol of cultural dialogue between Germany and Lithuania. Human Requiem: Music from close and personally
With Human Requiem Berlin Radio Choir, it opens up a new dimension of musical experience. There are no scenes, fixed places or barrier between performers and viewers. The audience becomes an integral part of the common experience - listeners no longer sit in front of the sound, but dive straight inside. The most important thing here is the presence of man, emotional connection and proximity. This creates a new relationship between text, performers and listeners, space and sound. For this reason, only 500 spectators will be able to participate in each show - to ensure an intimate and personal atmosphere. "Blessed to be sad because they will be comforted." Jochen Sandig, director of Brahms' Requiem, accepts this line literally. The proximity of the performers to the audience becomes a noble experience of communion, which allows the message about humanity to be accepted not only by the mind, but also through feelings and senses. In this common circle of performers and listeners, a personal event that fills the whole space is born - "Human Requiem". Back in 1867, Brahms wrote to conductor Carl Reinthaler: "When it comes to the text, I have to confess-I would gladly give up the word 'German' and just change it to 'human' '. The work today takes on even greater relevance. In the face of wars and global crises, man is increasingly longing for consolation. Brahms' German Requiem is not a traditional funeral Mass, but a musical letter of hope for the living, inviting you to stop, think and feel. The only such evening in Lithuania
Human Requiem was conceived by director Jochen Sandig in collaboration with the famous dance troupe Sasha Waltz & Guests. Performance is part of the Berlin Radio Choir Interdisciplinary Project series, which explores new concert forms and the engagement of the audience. Since the premiere in 2012, the work has been presented in New York, Hong Kong, Paris, Athens, Brussels, Amsterdam, Grenada, Adelaide and elsewhere. The performance earned important ratings - in 2016 The New York Times included Human Requiem in the world's best classical music projects, and he also earned the prestigious Classical: Next Innovation Award. Established in 1925, Berlin Radio Choir is one of the best professional choirs in the world. He hosts more than 60 shows each year and cooperates closely with conductors such as Kirill Petrenko, Daniel Barenboim, Sir Simon Rattle, Yannick Nézet-Séguin. The choir is constantly performing with the best orchestras in the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the German Symphony Orchestra in Berlin and the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra. Berlin Radio Choir has won three Grammy awards. ---
For the attention of the audience
Human Requiem can only participate in 500 viewers. You will become not only observers, but also an active part of the performance - you will be in one space with the performers. For this reason, mobile phones are strictly prohibited throughout the event. According to the Human Requiem concept, in which the performer and the viewer are equal, they will be asked to take off their shoes before entering the performance space. Please take care of clean and warm socks so that the experience is comfortable. Open to the World 2025
