In Vilnius - a special event of audiovisual art and music: one of the most famous Polish music groups brings a spectacular concert
This fall, an extraordinary evening awaits fans of audiovisual art: October 26th. An event will be held in Vilnius, featuring Kwartludium, one of the most famous Polish contemporary music groups. The ensemble brings an exclusive audiovisual concert inspired by nature and modern technology to the Lithuanian audience, and the playing of living instruments is accompanied by impressive visualizations and masterful electronic music. The event will be held at the newly built new LMTA Palace, a new one in the theater hall.
One of the most famous Polish contemporary music collectives, Kwartludium, came together in 2002. The ensemble has appeared at many prestigious festivals around the world, including Unsound in New York, Warsaw in the Autumn of Warsaw, Beijing Modern Music Festival, Daegu at the Contemporary Music Festival, Loop Festival in Brussels, Svensk Musikvår in Stockholm CT. Kwartludium also performed in Australia, South Korea, China, USA, Great Britain, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Portugal, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Serbia, Georgia. The creative activities of the quartet are represented by records published in publishers such as DuX, Requiem Records, Touch, as well as cooperation with Polish radio, TVP culture, Polmic, WDR 3 and Deutschlandfunk.
The collective is distinguished not only by the special composition, but also with the great attention to the latest music - its repertoire is rich in today's composers, written specifically for this ensemble. Kwartludium has already presented dozens of world premieres, and modern improvisational music has an important role in its activities. The ensemble was awarded the Honorary Prize of the Polish Composers' Union for his contribution to the dissemination of contemporary Polish music.
Kwartludium in Vilnius will perform nature -inspired audiovisual pieces that are metaphorically inviting to dive among the trees. During the show, the world premiere of the famous Lithuanian composer Egidija Medekšaitė's Pravanda and Michał Jacaszek, one of the most original Polish electronic and electro -acoustic music creators, Catalogue des Archares, will be performed. The premiere of the latter piece took place at the famous New York Unsound Festival, as well as the Sonic ACS festival. Catalogue des Archar was born out of admiration for nature and is associated with the famous French composer Olivier Messiaen's Catalogue d'Oiseaux (Bird Catalog), where the birds of the birds "translate" to music. M. Jacaszek and the Kwartludium project combine outdoor records, instrumental improvisations and excerpts from O. Messiaen's works.
The original audio contact with nature is accompanied by impressive visualizations. Based on this music and inspired by the works of Polish painter Leon Tarasewicz, Portuguese director and video artist Pedro Maia created visualizations using M. Jacaszek and his own filmed trees and leaf videos, which were additionally processed by analogous image manipulation.
The concert will also be performed by a world premiere of renowned Lithuanian composer Egidija Medekšaitė's new piece "Pravanda". Often her music inspired by textile patterns was inspired by the tree crops this time. "They reminded me of the desert surfaces, ocean, water patterns - associations could be infinite. Each tree roller has its own structure, shape and appearance; they became the main source of my inspiration. In music, I moved these images to many audio writings, and the structure of the piece is based on independent melodic lines, The music "Pranis" will be accompanied by the visualization of the video artist Luke Miceika.
