This year, the National School of Arts of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis is celebrating its honorable 80th anniversary. During the decades of school classes and halls, hundreds of artists began their creative path to the culture of Lithuania for decades. The school celebrates this year and 60 years from the day she was given the name of M. K. Čiurlionis, obliging each member of the community to educate his talent. "Čiurlioniukai" - so affectionately called her students at school. The labeled, inspired by the Lithuanian genius, whose 150th birth anniversary coincides with the anniversary of his name. Celebrations to celebrate "Chiurlioniukai" are more than enough, and the best young artists are doing on the stage, with their refreshing talent for the audience.
The school was born as a music education institution, so it is not surprising that today the music department is the biggest in it. There are 140 educators who are purposefully preparing music professionals who continue their way in the prestigious scenes of the world.

The school occupies an important place in 2002. A symphony orchestra was founded, with artistic director and conductor - maestro Martynas Staškus, the second conductor - Juozas Mantas Jauniškis. This orchestra not only performs a complex repertoire, but also actively concerts and makes the name of the school all over Lithuania. The orchestra regularly participates in important cultural events in the country - the Song Songs in the finals, the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater and the Republican Student Song Festivals. Every year, the collective delights the audience with New Year's concerts "Musical Fireworks", and during the summers gather at the creative camp at the Arts Education Center in Palanga. Already a tradition has become a concert of the beginning of the school year "The Arts Called. A New Beginning" in the school yard, which is broadcast live on LRT. The orchestra develops not only musicality, but also responsibility, listening, collective spirit.
No less significant is the choir since 1948. The collective is currently being conducted by Gitana Trimirkaitė, a chorus master, a chorus master. R. Gražinis' many years of experience and deep musical vision formed the sound of the choir recognizable in Lithuania and beyond. From this year, the assistant Jaunius Šakalys joined the choir.
