Violinist Joshua Brown (b. 1999) has won worldwide audience and critical acclaim for his "richness of sound, elegance of interpretation and devotion to every moment on stage" (La Libre). The violinist gained international attention in 2024, winning second place and the Audience Award at the prestigious International Queen Elizabeth Competition in Brussels. After his debut performance with the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Classical wrote: "A masterfully executed piece that touched every emotional chord. Brown was mesmerizing throughout his time on stage." J. Brown is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston (USA), where he studies with prof. Donald Weilerstein. He previously received his bachelor's and master's degrees in violin from the same place. J. Brown will play Antonín Dvořák's (1841–1904) Violin Concerto in A minor in the LVSO concert hall. In this concert, the composer makes maximum use of the lyrical character of the violin, while revealing a rich, symphonic sound. It is one of the most popular and frequently performed pieces by A. Dvořák, which has become an integral part of the international violin repertoire.

The last Fourth Symphony of the great German romantic Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) will be played in the second part of the concert. After a long search for authentic artistic expression and constantly feeling the influence of L. van Beethoven, J. Brahms seems to be freed in this symphony: the bright colors of the sounds of the orchestra's instruments, the flowing melodies and the inner drama do not leave the listeners indifferent. This work is often compared to the "evergreen tree of life".

At the concert, the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by one of Latvia's most famous conductors - the chief conductor of the Latvian National Opera, Mārtiņš Ozoliņš. Since 2010 the conductor is an associate professor of the Department of Orchestral Conducting at the Latvian Academy of Music.
