This evening is an opportunity to experience the meeting of two ancient cultures: Persian Sufi poetry and music and the depth of Indian classical music. The event is dedicated to Rumi's birthday, a day to remember him and his teachings on the inner journey. In the short introduction of the evening, the subtle connection between Zarathustra and Rumi - teachers who lived at different times but expressed a similar inner light - will be revealed.
Dariush Rasouli (Iran), a master of Persian classical music, will play the tar and nei at the concert, sing Zarathustra's mantras and read Rumi's poems in Persian, accompanied by a translation into Lithuanian. He will be answered by the bansuri flute of Indian classical music, whose colorful melodies will be performed by Adomas Šimkūnas, who has studied and performed traditional Indian classical music for many years.
The musical dialogue between Dariush Rasouli and Adam Šimkūnas will be further colored by the constant sounding delicate harmony of the tampura and Ehsan Vaseghi's percussion. We will enjoy music that preserves the forms of both Indian and Persian classical traditions, which Rumi called "the music of the heart".

About the performers:
Dariush Rasouli is an Iranian-born Persian flute player who studied at Tehran University of Arts and Music and studied with famous Persian music masters, including Mohammad Ali Kiyaninejad and Hasan Kasai. He has been living in Warsaw since 2004, actively performs in Europe as a soloist and collaborates with various musicians and ensembles. Rasouli is the founder of the Perso-Polish ensemble PersoPolish, has played at many international festivals, recorded music for albums and movies, and appeared as a soloist with various European philharmonic orchestras.
Adomas Šimkūnas is an Indian classical music performer, an advocate of the bansuri flute and Dhrupad tradition. Since 2016 studying Dhrupad, the oldest vocal tradition of North Indian classical music, and continuing his vocal and bansuri flute studies with Professor Pandit Ritwik Sanyal from Varanasi, one of the most renowned masters of this tradition. Adams performs in Lithuania and abroad, and also accompanies Indian classical dance performers.
Ehsan Vaseghi - has been studying Iranian music and percussion since he was ten years old. His main instrument is tombak, he also plays setar and oud.
