Saxophonist Vytautas Labutis and accordionist Andrius Balachovich invites you to the evening at the Music Magic Club, where he will present a program inspired by jazz, classic, Lithuanian conventional and world music!
The duo, which gathered in 2018, has already organized many performances in various Lithuanian jazz festivals and concert spaces, and their music has been repeatedly positively appreciated by international experts. The performers combine their own experience of jazz and accordion music into a contrasite program that combines original works and the arrangements of the inventive compositions.
"There is almost no format in the world. Our duo - saxophone and accordion - are unique, so the musical tasks are non -standard. What we do with Andrew is like another space, other visions and opportunities," says Vytautas Labutis.
The title of the album released this year, "Reeds," reflects the duo's musical connection - both saxophone and accordion sound are born through tongues that are "vibrated" by air stream and performer's craftsmanship. The album features eleven tracks - each opens up a peculiar musical landscape: from gentle, intimate sounds to free jazz improvisations, from classic moods to world music rhythms.

About the performers:
Vytautas Labutis is one of the most prominent creators of the Lithuanian jazz scene: saxophonist, composer, multi -earthenman. Over the decades, consistent creative activities have been performing around the world, from the US and Australia to China and European jazz festivals. Played with the most prominent Lithuanian and international jazz performers, is co-author or producer of more than 50 albums. In addition to concert activities, he is actively creating music for cinema, theater, poetry projects and teach young musicians.
Andrius Balachovich is an accordionist who has been rated many times as a soloist and a member of chamber ensembles. He performed regularly in Lithuania and abroad, played at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic, Presidential Palace and prestigious European concert halls. It is also active in teaching work and cooperates with various collectives, from classic ensembles to jazz projects.
