Majorca preludes: live 2026. 03. 06 at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. This is a piano recital - the presentation of pianist Eglė Andrejevaitė's debut album "Reflections Op. 28: Mallorca Preludes", which will take place at the Sapiegi Palace in Vilnius. Eglė Andrejevaitė is the first Lithuanian pianist to record Frédéric Chopin's cycle of preludes Op. 28 (1838). The album conceptually combines these works with twelve preludes by contemporary Spanish composers commissioned by the prestigious Valdemosa Chopin Festival (2016). "These Spanish compositions add new colors, ideas and diversity to the originals", - about the artist's album 2025. wrote the classical music magazine "Pizzicato" in June. "The obvious connection of modern preludes, color interpretation and Chopinian style once again confirm the continuity of our musical cosmos," says the album's art director prof. Muse Rubackytė. It is no coincidence that the interactive, audience-engaging presentation concert in Vilnius will take place at the Sapiegi Palace. The harmony of history and contemporary art felt in them will also be reflected in the music: Chopin's preludes and their Spanish reflections, the world of light and darkness and sounds will create a sensitive dialogue between worlds separated by centuries. IN THE PROGRAM - selections from Frédéric Chopin's cycle op. 28 preludes and works by contemporary Spanish composers. ABOUT THE PERFORMER Pianist Andrejevaitė, laureate of international competitions since 2013. is consistently developing his solo career - he started a series of conceptual solo recitals, including "Zaltis Sonata", "9 Treasures", "An Hour with Beethoven", "Estamp - for the 100th anniversary of the Baltic States". Her concert-performance "Winter in Mallorca" in 2021 became exceptional. prepared together with actress and director Biruta Mar. The program was performed dozens of times and received full audiences. Chopin's cycle of preludes Op. 28 inspired the pianist to go to the monastery of Valdemosa on the island of Mallorca, where most of this cycle is believed to have been composed. Sheet music found in the monastery souvenir shop - "24 Preludis per a Frédéric Chopin" - became the impetus for the album "Reflections Op. 28: Mallorca Preludes". The album was recorded by Grammy-nominated sound directors Aleksandra and Vilius Ker.
