The connection between man, nature and divinity, the pursuit of transcendence and heavenly light, pervades all the works of the composer. Wind musical instruments play an important role in the Messiaen style, and the composer has created a number of works for a large wind and percussion ensemble. One of them - ET Expecto Resurrectionem Mortalum - Monumental, a piece of powerful and massive sound that will be performed for the first time in Lithuania at this concert. The title of the work used the texts from the ecclesiastical liturgy, while the music conveys apocalyptic visions and the message of hope about the resurrection. This piece, like most other Messiaen's works, requires extremely high performers' craftsmanship. The concert will also feature two parts from the Messiaen organ of L'Scence, performed by the younger generation of organist Ben Jonušas.
