MUZIKA FOR GOURMETS – THE PEARL OF THE XXI INTERNATIONAL FOLKLORE FESTIVAL "POKROVO VARPAI"
For more than two decades, the international folklore festival "Pokrovo Varpai" has been an integral part of the cultural life of the capital - one of the most famous ethnic cultural events in Europe, bringing together a large, strongly connected community and promoting Lithuania and Vilnius in the world.
Vilnius St. The traditional festival concert MUZIKA GOURMANAMS, which will be held in St. Catherine's Church, is a special opportunity to experience folklore as it has been preserved and brought to this day by communities of different nations. The two-part concert will feature the best folklore ensembles from Lithuania and foreign countries - Armenia, Bulgaria, Latvia, Poland, Lithuania, Spain, Norway, Sakartvel, Serbia, Ukraine, bringing the musical traditions of their lands that sound as authentic as centuries ago. Listeners will hear unique examples of traditional music that have been preserved to this day, which reveal the worldly, rhythmic and melodic memory of different peoples. It is like a living dialogue with the past, allowing you to feel how tradition breathes today, and how the voices of different cultures merge into a common, inspiring musical whole.
The uniqueness of the festival lies in its deep respect for traditional folklore and cultural heritage values protected by UNESCO. In the second part of the concert, the audience will hear Kartvelian polyphonic music. The ensemble "Gurulebi" of the Ozurgeti Cultural Center of the Guria region will present authentic examples of Guria folklore - a land where tradition sounds in every voice.
Concert guests will not only enjoy exceptional musical performances, but will also see bright national costumes, hear rare instruments with a unique sound, and admire folk dances that tell entire stories of nations. It is an evening where music becomes a journey - to the roots of cultures, to people's memory, to what unites us.

The organizer of the festival is the Folklore and Ethnography Center of Lithuanian National Minorities. The event was sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania, the Council of Culture of Lithuania, Vilnius City Municipality and the Department of National Minorities under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.
