For the first time in Lithuania, three distinguished tenors from Naples - Francesco Malapena, Alessandro Fortunato and Francesco Fortes - meet on one stage, inviting you to an exclusive evening of Italian music in St. Catherine's Church.
The program "Canto Italiano - Three Tenors of Naples" combines the great tradition of Italian opera and the sunny romance of Neapolitan songs. The arias from the operas of Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini and the world-loved "O Sole Mio", "Torna a Surriento", "Santa Lucia" and other Italian music melodies will be played.
Three bright tenors will meet on stage, whose creative paths stretch through the prestigious concert halls of Europe and the world. Francesco Malapena is a laureate of the international Enrico Caruso competition, who has performed at the Sydney Opera House, the Royal Albert Hall in London and other famous stages around the world. Francesco Fortes is the winner of the Special Prize for Best Male Voice in the Luciano Pavarotti Competition, having performed the leading roles in the operas La Bohème, Madama Butterfly, Aida and Turandot. Alessandro Fortunato is a lyrical tenor whose repertoire combines great Italian opera, musicals and the tradition of Neapolitan songs.
The tenors will be accompanied by the instrumental ensemble "Montella Trio" assembled especially for this project - guitar virtuosos Nicola Montella and Valerio Celentano and violinist Andrea Montella. The mastery of three Italian instrumentalists will give the program a chamber delicacy and an authentic Mediterranean sound.
This concert is a musical journey to Italy, where the grandeur of opera meets Neapolitan passion, romance and the lively emotion of Southern Italy. Powerful tenor voices sounding in the special St. Catherine's Church, and the virtuoso instrumental accompaniment will allow you to experience the music sensitively, closely and authentically.
