The M. K. Čiurlionis International Music Festival gives listeners an exclusive introduction to recognized harp virtuosos.
Four European music lovers who have conquered the hearts for music, the laureates of many international competitions Giedra Julija Tutkutė, Aistė Baliunytė Dailidienė, Agnė Keblytė and David Lootveot are meeting in Vilnius especially for this concert, where they will charm the audience with enchanting performances and pay tribute to the phenomenon of Čiurlionis. The work, music or theme of each of them, performed solo or duet, will be related to this great Lithuanian composer.
Four great harpists will perform works by C. Saint-Saens, M. Ravel, F. Liszt, M. K. Čiurlionis, A. Solero, C. Debussy works for harp or arrangements created by the musicians themselves for this instrument. It is no accident that C. Saint-Saens' fantasy, which the young Čiurlionis learned during his first lessons at the Plungė Manor Orchestra School, was included in the program. The harpists will perform it together with the flute virtuoso Ieva Kuprevičiūta.

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS:

Truly extraordinary personalities will appear on the stage of the Palace of Lords during the evening of the concert. Despite her young age, GIEDRA JULIJA TUTKUTĖ, a graduate of the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts, is not only a great professional. In the past few years alone, the scholarship recipient of the M. Rostropovičius Foundation "Help for Lithuanian Children" has participated in 7 international harpist competitions and won the first places in all of them. Not only that, Giedra Julija composes well - her chamber opuses have been winning first places in the Republican Young Composers Competitions organized by the Lithuanian Composers' Union and in the international composition competition held in Kazakhstan for several years and are heard in many European countries. The schoolgirl was even twice awarded the statue of "Little Christopher" and earned the thanks of the President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė.

A special connection with Čiurlionis also links another harpist performing on the stage of the Palace of Lords. AISTĖ BALIUNYTĖ is also a former "chiurlioniukė", currently teaching at the most famous art school in Lithuania. She is the concertmaster of the harp group of the National Opera and Ballet Theater Orchestra, and collaborates with other Lithuanian and foreign orchestras. Aistė studied in Paris for eight years, graduated from the Paris National Conservatory with Prof. In the I. Moretti class, she is the winner or laureate of many international competitions.

AGNĖ KEBLYTĖ continued her education after the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts in Geneva under the famous pedagogue Florence Sitruk, later in Brussels and finally at the Paris National Conservatory in the class of I. Moretti. Thanks to her excellent craftsmanship and original interpretations, Agnė won several international competitions and won special prizes for the performance of national works. This opened the way for Lithuania to many prestigious music festivals, such as "Young Artist in Concert" in Davos, Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad and "Les Museïques" in Basel (Switzerland), Perla Baroku in Kobylk (Poland). She also played at the harp festivals in Belgrade (Serbia) and Gödöllő (Hungary). For several years, Agnė Keblytė worked in the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra, and currently lives and plays music in Paris, where she collaborates with the largest French orchestras and has already had the opportunity to work with such conductors as Gustavo Dudamel, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Klaus Mäkelä and others.

DAVID LOOTVOET, the soloist of the National Paris Opera Orchestra, crossed paths with Lithuania at the Paris Conservatoire, where Isabelle Moretti met the Lithuanian women who studied there and heard Čiurlionis for the first time. David - winner of international competitions in Luxembourg and Holland, collaborates with Orchester de Paris, Orchester Les Siècles, Les Dissonances, Philharmonique de Radio France, National Orchestra of Belgium, Orchester Pasdeloup. Had the opportunity to play with such conductors as James Levine, Youri Termikanov, Seiji Osawa, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Mikko Frank, Valery Guergiev, Gustavo Dudamel, etc. The soloist, who performs a lot, pays special attention to festivals and chamber music, has recorded several discs.
