K. Čiurlionis Music Festival bringing an exclusive romantic program.

This ensemble, according to its participants, is a musical and human adventure that began in 2011. In Paris, fruit. From the very beginning, this quartet has been awarded with its knowledge and special attention by such chamber music legends as Hatto Beyerle, Vladimir Mendelssohn, and currently one of the most famous professionals and experts in contemporary classical music, Patrick Jüdt. The music played by the viola in the concert is well known to the Lithuanian audience. She is a laureate of many prestigious national and international competitions, a master's student at the Edsberg Institute of the Royal Stockholm College of Music, a doctoral student and teacher at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater, who regularly performs as a soloist with such orchestras as the Lithuanian and Latvian National Symphony Orchestras, the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, St. Christopher's Chamber Orchestra and other ensembles.

A P I E A T L I K E S:

What makes the "AKILONE QUARTET" unique is not only the excellent musicianship, but also the modern drive of its four members and the desire to leave a bright female mark in the male world of music. To this end, violinists Magdalena Geka and Elise De-Bendelac, violist Perrine Guillemot and cellist Lucie Mercat agreed to collaborate with composer Xu Yi, whose work Aquilone Lontano premiered in 2018. at the Paris Philharmonic and was a huge success. In 2023, inspired by her, the musicians decided to take on a new challenge - the performance of composer Jérôme Désigaud's composition "Parastiches", which intertwines microtonality and polytempo, with Judith Hamann and the team of the National Center for Music Creation.
This search for new means of expression does not diminish the ambition of the quartet's soloists to delve into the performance of classical works. Last year, the musicians went to the Czech Republic to better feel the influence of the environment where the works of their extremely favorite composer A. Dvořák were born.
Another distinctive feature of Akilone artists is their social responsibility and desire to share music not only with music lovers, but and those for whom it is more difficult to reach, so they perform in prisons, for refugees, children, people with disabilities, etc. Musicians are equally sensitive to environmental protection and consumerism issues, are ambassadors of the "Made by locals" initiative, take care of the culture of regions far from big cities, and organize an arts festival in the Oktisani region.
Magdalena Geka plays the first violin by Alessandro Gagliano in 1734. made with an instrument generously donated by "Anima Music Foundation".

JULIJA ANDERSSON is a Lithuanian violinist and violist of the young generation, laureate of prestigious national and international competitions, who regularly performs as a soloist at prestigious festivals and in the largest halls of Lithuania and Europe.
Since 2011, Julija has been a soloist of the New Ideas Chamber Orchestra (artistic director - Gediminas Gelgotas). Together with the ensemble, she performs in famous concert halls - Leipzig Gewandhaus (Germany), St. Petersburg Philharmonic (Russia), St. Martin-in-the-Fields (London, Great Britain), and festivals - "Vilnius Festival", "Gaida", "Usedomer Musikfestival" (Germany, Poland), "Toulon Music Festival" (France), "Ventura Music Festival" ” (California, USA) and others.
Music also pays great attention to chamber music. The ensemble "Duo Andersson", established with his spouse, pianist Paulius Andersson, has won prizes in the prestigious Lithuanian, Italian, Polish, and Spanish chamber ensemble competitions over the past few years.
J. Social and educational activities are extremely close to Andersson. The musician regularly conducts educations, performs in schools, for war refugees and senior citizens.
Julia is also one of the founders of the Alanta Music Festival.
