We invite you to the home of the author of the novel "Forest of the Gods"
Bali and Vanda Sruog House-Museum (department of the Maironis Museum of Lithuanian Literature) - a wooden house with modernist forms, 1936. designed by architect Vladimir Zubov. It is interesting that the house was first built in Žemaitija, on the estate of V. Sruogienė's father, Kazimieros Daugirdas. However, the parts of the dismantled house were brought to Kaunas by railway and it was rebuilt. in 1938 the construction of the house was finished and the Sruogai family moved here.
On the first floor, three authentic rooms of Bali and Vanda Sruoga have been restored.
Professor B. Sruoga's office still has a part of his personal library, a typewriter, an antique-style desk, on the walls - portraits of the writer created by the artists Olga Dubeneckienė-Kalpokienė, Vladas Didžioks, and Adam Varnas. In the office of the historian Dr. V. Daugirdaitė Sruogienė - a part of the memorial library sent from the USA, on the desk - personal belongings, on the walls - reproductions of the paintings of the artist M. K. Čiurlionis. Antanas Žmuidzinavičius, Leon Kazoks, Viktoras Petravičius and others. works, Sruoga's friends, colleagues - theatergoers, participants, teachers - regularly visited here.
On the second floor, there are two separate literary expositions dedicated to Bali and Vanda Sruoga.
The museum hosts various events, commemorations, excursions and educational programs for visitors of all ages. Excursions and educational programs must be booked in advance.

Museum expositions can be visited for free:
- children of preschool age (up to 7 years);
- orphans and those under parental care bereaved children;
- disabled persons and accompanying persons (per disabled person - one accompanying person);
- seniors over 80 years old;
- Family card holders;
- employees of museums of the Republic of Lithuania ;
- members of the International Council of Museums (ICOM);
- individual teachers of the humanitarian direction of general education schools and vocational training institutions of the Republic of Lithuania and individual teachers of humanities faculties of higher education institutions;
- members of the Lithuanian Writers' Union ;
- Members of the Union of Lithuanian Journalists;
- Civil servants and employees of the Department of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture, working under an employment contract;
- All visitors on the last Sunday of every month, February 16, March 11, July 6;
- Foreigners who left Ukraine due to the military actions of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
Discount for visits to museum expositions is applied to:
- students from the Republic of Lithuania, other European Union member states and European Economic Area countries studying under general education and vocational training programs;
– for students of higher education institutions of the Republic of Lithuania, other European Union member states and European Economic Area states;
- permanent mandatory military service for soldiers, volunteer soldiers;
– for persons who have reached the state social insurance old-age pension age (up to 80 years); - for persons affected by occupations from 1939-1990;
– for political prisoners and exiles, former prisoners of ghettos, concentration camps or other types of forced labor camps;
– for the defenders of the independence of the Republic of Lithuania, who suffered from the 1991 January 11-13 and the subsequent aggressions of the USSR;
- for the participants of the resistance to the occupations of 1940-1990 - volunteer soldiers and participants of freedom struggles.
