The Museum of the History of Little Lithuania is located in one of the oldest Baroque style houses in Klaipėda, built in 1774. The building with a well-kept vineyard belonged to postmaster Johan Kristian Vite.
The story of the museum is very rich - it includes the prehistory of this region, the life and burial customs of the Curonian and Scalvian tribes, the conquests of the Teutonic Order and the existence of the state they created, one of the world's oldest languages – Lithuanian – the origin of printed books and periodicals. No less exciting are the 20th century. events of the first half. A special place in the exposition is occupied by the traditional culture of Lithuanians.
