"What are you complaining about the sea?" - more than a century ago, Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis asked, as if feeling the future Baltic Aiman.
When the composer created his famous symphony, the world was still filled with different - the sea was a symbol of purity, a powerful but clean natural verse. People lived slower, closer to nature, and had not yet known the current scale ecological burden and global anxiety. Today is another era. The sea is poisoned. The public lives as if on a "target bomb", each step is accompanied by internal tension, bad flair and threat from neighboring countries.
For choreographer Birutė Letutaitė, M. K. Čiurlionis' Sea has become the main metaphor for talking about the changed relationship between modern man and nature, about today's pains: toxic substances contaminated by the Baltic and society contaminated with phobias, egoism, apathy. Damaged natural and human balance brings mutual irreversible loss.
