Actress Kristina Kazlauskaitė is once again taking up directing - the comedy "Three Beloveds" by Julija Beniuševičiūtė-Žymantienė, better known by her nickname Žemaitė, a classic work of Lithuanian literature.
The play takes place in a Lithuanian village. Ludvikas, a village boy, tries to enslave three lovers at the same time with his seductions - a mother and her two daughters who live in one village shed. However, his evil goal is not love, but wealth. The young man tries to swindle his mother's savings. This is where the comedy of various situations - lies, deception, seductions - is born, when each of the three women falls seriously in love with Ludvik.
The bright characters in the play will be embodied by legendary theater actors: the role of the mother is created by the actresses Dalia Brenciūtė and Violeta Podolskaitė. Young generation actors Balys Ivanauskas and Artūras Dubaka will share the role of Ludvik, while the daughters will alternately be played by Redita Dominaitytė and Kristina Savickytė (Petronėlė) and Aistė Lasytė and Veronika Tarasevičiūtė (Domicėlė). "Three Beloveds" is one of the works of national dramaturgy and remains relevant today. Three women and one man. Deception or sincerity? Love or calculation? Eternal questions, which Kristina Kazlauskaitė will try to answer sensuously, dramatically, comically, using her own, director's, visions, actors' talents, colloquial dialects, conveying the amplitude of human qualities and feelings.
We all want to love and be loved. Ludvik and his three lovers are a great example of this.
