[...] Terrible in its own way origins, terrifyingly beautiful in artistic performance." Helmut Jasny, Westfälische Nachrichten / "Maciejus Kuźmiński's dance painting reminds us how real and close the experience of war can be - a full-fledged experience that permeates time, space around us, our bodies and minds." Justyna Stanisławska, taniecpolska.pl / "A land without time, a life without land. The choreography avoids clear quotations and drama, but radiates the wisdom of a sensitive and multifaceted dance, an excellent group of dancers and the audience's ability to empathize with every minute." Melanie Suchy, TanzWeb NRW Maciej Kuzminski's dance performance Every Minute Motherland was created in response to the Russian war in Ukraine and the refugee crisis that followed. Created in collaboration with playwright Paul Bargetto together with a Polish and Ukrainian team, in which refugees participated. The work is inspired by the personal stories of the dancers and based on documentary practice. It examines the effects of trauma, exile and alienation within the wider context of war, identity and the immovable forces of history and geography. Against the constant background of television and social media, where the war takes place in a numbing repetition, the work focuses our attention again on the bodies of the witnesses, whose experiences are transcribed in movement and in time, conveyed on stage like a kind of ritual myth. From Mariupol to Kharkiv and everywhere else where the war began, culture and artists became deliberate targets for the destruction of the Ukrainian nation. This performance is an act of resistance to these crimes and a statement of solidarity with Ukraine. Maciej Kuźmiński is a freelance Polish choreographer who has been working since 2014. His works are fundamentally based on deep, dynamic movement, revolving around existential and philosophical concepts. The artist's works were presented more than 400 times in 23 countries and gradually gained international recognition. The artist created choreography for troupes such as "Hessisches Staatsballett", "Landestheater Linz", "Staatstheater Kassel" or the Polish Dance Theater. His independent works for Maciej Kuźmiński's troupe have won more than 30 awards for choreography, making Mr. Kuźmiński one of the most awarded Polish dance creators. https://eng.maciejkuzminski.com/ The festival is financed by #Lietuvoskulturostaryba, #Klaipėdosmiestosavivaldybė https://vimeo.com/838223224
