Joana - GABRIELĖ MALINAUSKAIĖ-RUDZIEĖ Documentary play that tells the story of the fate of three women in the face of historical genocides - Dutch Jewess Etty Hillesum (killed in Auschwitz during World War II), Lithuanian Joanas Ulinauskaitė-Mureikienė (sixteen-year-old, deported to a Soviet camp after the war) and Ukrainian Natalija Skrinnik, who spent a month in Russian captivity near Bucha, after the war in Ukraine began. Three heroines, three eras, three lives in "barracks" - when a person is deprived of his identity, human value, future... When the only weapon left is faith, prayer, song. When in the face of despair, inner freedom awakens - stronger than coercion, opening the invisible powers hidden in a person. Excerpts from J. Ulinauskaitė-Mureikienė's book of memories "Tests of Fate", fragments of E. Hillesum's letters and diaries (translated by Aušra Gudavičūtė and Birutė Mar) were used in the performance.
