Islands | Sheikh Dance Theater Klaipeda Islands - Music and Motion Installation This installation is a tribute to our relationship with nature, the present and the future. The islands invite you to immerse yourself in a natural state of minimalist music, motion, light and abstract suits. When entering the installation space, it includes a sense of gradual flooding - as if you were inside an hourglass. The audience is caught by the meditative music of Smilčiai and the cello and the sounds of the cello laid. It is a minimalist composition of the famous composer Martinaitytė, made up of analogue sand and cello sounds. Viewers in space meet people -like figures, but their identity is as if erased, and the bodies gradually gradually grab the sand and the feeling that the disappearance of the sand is inevitable. Inspired by the Curonian Spit, the islands are clinging to the themes of sustainability, environmental protection and humanity. For the music of the dance and music installation "Islands" in 2021, the composer Martinaitytė was nominated for the Golden Stage Cross. The press on the installation “The subtle dramatism of the violets in the music of the violets of the composer is perfect for" islands "that spoke on difficult topics - our relationship to nature, environment and possible humanity's irresponsibility scenarios. I would say that the dramatism of music in this piece is the most striking, it connects with a rather minimal but clearly arranged choreography, which, like the visual part of the performance, is most interesting to look from above. "Islands" - a subtly beautiful picture of sound and motion, like a sketch. " Rasa Murauskaitė.
