Richard and Julia, the heroes of the romantic comedy "Dating Games", recently officially separated, but their divorce is only a formality on paper. The couple, who spent many years in marriage, remained close friends, sincerely wishing each other happiness in their new relationship. However, it soon turns out that it is much more complicated than it might appear at first glance... Both start looking for new partners by going on blind dates.
While dating is a great way to find your significant other, it gets a lot trickier when you've been married for decades. Ex-spouses Richard and Julia are waiting for colorful and sometimes even strange dating partners. Each new meeting convinces me more and more that the whole dating world is like one big misunderstanding.
An increasingly lost Richard and a disillusioned Julia would have given up long ago if not for each other's constant support. Will their efforts to rediscover love end in utter fiasco? Or maybe they will succeed and a new, beautiful relationship will appear in their lives?
Dating Games is a fun, fast-paced and bitingly witty comedy about men and women trying to communicate, fall in love and, if successful, survive a second date. There will be many mistakes, unexpected turns, triumphs, fiascos and laughter, because love, like sports, requires endurance, courage and a little luck.
The play is by British playwright Peter Quilter, whose productions have been staged in more than 40 countries, including Broadway and London's West End. Mr. Quilter is one of the world's most frequently staged contemporary authors, twice nominated for the prestigious Olivier Award (for Best New Play and Best New Comedy), and his Broadway debut earned him three Tony nominations.
