Initially, as many as 90 percent of Lithuanians could not read or write.
2022 After the collapse of the "Ekranas" dam slug, Nevėžis floods part of Panevezys. Residents flock to the dam to watch this event: they swim by boat, save their belongings, fish, and the municipality promises to compensate for the damage caused by the disaster.
These events become the main inspiration for the performance "Beyond Nevėžis".
The performance is like an induction of Nevėžis: constantly changing, unpredictable. It is intertwined with two storylines, two acting styles - naturalistic and versed text, classical and electronic music. Here, the serf and the graphiene, the influencer and the secretary face the same problem - despair caused by the devastating verse of water.
The creative team, assuming that despair is a natural state of man at the junction of the epochs, the light irony and the absurd asks: What does a person who is in despair is not overlooked? Perhaps the Nevėžis lies what would help even see each other in the biggest crisis?
