We want to be big, we want to live in a big city, long for big ideas. The myth of the Great Šiauliai has been chasing the city for many centuries. As a result, there have always been attempts to "increase" Šiauliai. The story of many other facts, stories and personalities will be about this and many other little heard. Perhaps the self -irregular gaze will help us distract the phantoms of greatness from the past?

Specially designed for this festival, the great Šiauliai is a work of a difficult genre. This is not a "real" performance or a traditional guide guided tour. Usually we learn about the past in excursions, and in the theater we meet ourselves. The authors of this piece combined both elements, so the questions about where we and who we are from will not be avoided. The Great Šiauliai invites you to a trip during the era and the history of the city to better understand ourselves.

The main creators and authors of this performance with a guide are writer Rimantas Kmita and professional guide Donatas Jokūbaitis - are still in the heart of Šiauliai people who are concerned with the history and present of the city. They invite them to explore the great phenomenon of Šiauliai, to look for signs and potential of the city today. The historical personalities of Šiauliai, which will be embodied by the actors of the State Šiauliai Drama Theater, will be revived during the walk-performance. So the great Šiauliai is a performance and a walk with a guide. These are true facts and fantasies, reality and fiction that combine the past and the present into the seamless experience of the world, city and self -perception.
