On the occasion of the International Theater Day, the series of events of the State Šiauliai Drama Theater THEATER CLUB invites you to the one-man play "PRAEis" by actor, playwright and director Justos Tertelis, followed by a conversation with the author of the play and the actors of VŠDT.
"PRAEis" is a one-man show for everyone who loves theater and wants to see behind the scenes. If you have always been curious about how actors learn so much text, how actors not only "enter" but also "exit" a role, what it feels like to play a "good" performance, actor and director Justas Tertelis will answer these questions openly and with humor. The show easily and engagingly reveals the everyday life of today's theater, inviting not only to smile, but also to think.
This one-man play continues the theme of playwright Justos Tertelis' first play "PRA - a one-act monoplay for a beginning actor", but this time the relationship between theater and society is looked at from the eyes of a novice, but an experienced middle-aged theater creator. Through a live dialogue with the audience, established norms about theater and culture are questioned, the paradoxes of the creative world are explored, and the audience is invited to ask themselves: why do we still go to the theater today? What kind of theater and culture do we need?
The THEATER CLUB conversation that will take place after the performance will continue these topics - together with the creators, answers to questions about the meaning of theater, the profession of an actor and the challenges of modern theater will be sought.
THEATER CLUB – a cycle of events organized by the VŠDT, inviting you to explore the current affairs of contemporary theatre, culture and society from various perspectives. Performances, talks, discussions and public lectures are offered to the audience every month, combining artistic experience and lively dialogue. The series is intended for all curious, open-minded viewers who want to get to know the current theater and cultural processes better and actively participate in them.
The performance is also suitable for younger theater lovers, but it is designed for audiences over 33 years of age.
