Yana Ross, who has rarely staged plays in Lithuania recently and who is ending her term of management of the Zurich Theater (Schauspielhaus Zürich) with seven other artists, will invite the audience to the premiere in LNDT's Small Hall in September .
For the new performance, Yana Ross chose the American writer David Foster Wallace (1962-2008), basically questioning human nature, the essay "Considering the Lobster." In his texts, D. F. Wallace tackles the most sensitive and uncomfortable issues of modern society - empathy, raising children, intimacy, lack of communication and the end of anthropocentrism. will point out the socially acceptable gray areas we intend to question. Susan Sontag's book "Regarding the Pain of Others" was very useful in creating the play, says Yana Ross.
"I admit that I never understood why so many people associate a fun holiday with flip flops and sunglasses that require you to push through crazy traffic jams to noisy, hot, crowded tourist spots to get a taste "local delicacies", although the very appearance of tourists basically destroys the whole concept. For me, to be a mass tourist means to become the purest American of today - an uneducated foreigner, greedily desiring what he cannot get and disappointed by what he cannot admit to himself", writes D.F. Wallace.
