Les Moires Hotel is the only shining point for many kilometers. Far from the popular tourist paths, it exists as if there was no time - it doesn't get old, it doesn't feel, there is just. It is said that high in the mountains, time is faster, although such differences are not obscured by such differences. Although Les Moires itself does not experience time, the fates of its inhabitants are accelerating compared to what is closer to the Earth. The fact that this acceleration is noticeable is contrary to any laws of classical physics. Minutes and seconds seem to be more crushed in time, so one day and one night are more than a simple watch measure. In a suspicious accelerating time, a certain feature of the physical world, which could be called quantities of events, also accelerate.
What does the term "quantum" mean? The word quantum in Latin means "as much". In physics, the quantum describes the smallest portion that can or can change any physical size in a unit event. Simply put, a quantum is a portion that cannot be divided. The cake cannot be cut endlessly. There is a smallest possible piece that can be served by the guest.
Life is made up of events quanta. The events take place one by one, bringing together a certain story. Many phenomena, feelings, and relationships are overwhelmed by the narrative that breaks down into the past, the present and the unknown future. We call it life, biography, destiny. Each story is ruled by time, which means that stories become understandable. At first there is a reason, then the consequence, and the action causes a reaction. However, when time begins to accelerate, it stops in time and becomes something that we no longer understand, and many quantum events stop averaging the reality that can be understood and perceived.
This is exactly what happens one summer evening of 1938 at the Les Moires Hotel in the Swiss Mountains. Physical space and time properties are impaired. The guests of the hotel themselves also suffer from the disorder. Something begins to change in their memory, attitudes, emotions, desires. No one understands what is happening.
Among the guests is the famous German physicist Werner Heisenberg, the author of the principle of uncertainty. Doesn't the reality of large objects such as the desk, the hotel and the mountains begin to behave as the reality of elementary particles? According to Heisenberg, the particles can only be talked about approximately, describing their states rather than themselves. Only by changing the thinking of what the thing is to what the status of the thing is the hotel guests can understand what is happening to and around them. They came to the Les Moires to look at the world from the perspective of high mountains. In a wide view, seek deeper meaning. What if this meaning can be discovered not to enjoy the Swiss landscapes, but in an individual quantum: emotions, event, communication?
