Stalo Theater's play for babies "Sky Cook"
The play "Sky Cook" following the tale of the sun's journey on Earth invites 1.5-3-year-old children and their parents to look back at the memories of our elders' living, but increasingly forgotten, heritage. How often does a young mother have to grab her head, unable to calm down her crying little miracle, or just completely run off her feet, trying desperately to occupy her little miracle with something, who seems to get bored with every new activity in an instant? The creators of the show promise to teach the youngest viewers and their parents tongue exercises, speech therapy exercises and various other ancient, authentic games that will help them perform the daily rituals of eating, dressing, and getting ready for bed with play and, most importantly, practical benefits.
In the play, small Lithuanian folklore, i.e. i.e. riddles, games, as well as ancient ceremonial songs on the theme of the sun, happiness and child birth coexisted with the Baltic myth of the sun. According to the creator of the performance, Gedimin Žilis, meeting and sharing is very important here: "The goal of the play is to create a space where the child and mother, the audience and the actors share ("they gave to him, they gave to him") closeness, immediate connection. The very principle of sharing is very important here." The creators of the show, where the past and the present meet, art and everyday life, promise to give everyone - both young and old: a variety of games, songs, tongue and mind exercises that will help parents enrich communication with their children, create daily family rituals (getting up, washing , eating, etc.), decorating everyday life and bringing back to these actions their forgotten meaning.
The Sun is very important in the performance enriched with elements of the theater of objects and shadows and live music, the one that cuts through the sky and gives our lives a four-beat rhythm: morning, day, evening, night In songs, games, and fairy tales, the Sun is personified, its archetype is related to a continuous rhythm. "She shines and warms, she is like Mother. That's why we also wanted to warm ourselves under it, to enjoy its rays together, because in our lands it is so often covered by thick clouds when the sky is thin," says Saulė Degutytė, the namesake of the heavenly light.
During the performance, not only actors, but also parents will play with their little ones, so we recommend bringing at least one adult with them. Each audience member will receive the play texts of the play so they can use them at home.
