Vilnius Old Theater and Markutis Manor Museum invite viewers to take advantage of the unique opportunity to stroll around the 19th century manor homestead and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the performance "Uncle Vania" (dir. Tadas Montrimas). During the tour, participants will go backstage: they will find out the peculiarities of the performance, the challenges the creative group faced, how Anton Chekhov's characters were embodied in roles and so on. This impersonal walk will reveal the historical, literary and theatrical context of the performance and its connection with the authentic Markuciai Manor space. Is A. Chekhov's work relevant today? Why did director T. Montrim chose the play "Uncle Vania"? What impact on the construction of the manor house had? How does theater and museum spaces help link past and present?
The Imersian Chekhov tour: Uncle Vania without a mask is a time and space journey, an expedition of dramaturgy and the creative process itself, an unusual experience of the performance.
