Juggling fragments of legal and documentary texts, the musical performance balances between documentary, confession, play and protest. In the absurd and ironic space of tension and liberation, Jūra Elena Šedytė gives voice to experiences and situations that society usually chooses to keep silent about.
POTENCIALAS is an interdisciplinary creative project that explores the themes of a woman's image and autonomy through the prism of the abortion procedure in Lithuania. Here, the legal and moral environment symbolically and politically frames a woman's body, decisions and social projections. The project reflects the situation of reproductive rights, the mythology of the expectant woman, the figure of the anti-heroine and the cultural pressure, which through laws becomes the inevitability of a solution. Propaganda narratives and moral judgments that overshadow the context of human rights are analyzed.
