Have you ever thought why we miss your childhood home? Why do we want to go back to them? This performance is a return to childhood space full of unanswered questions.
In the "Journey Home", different areas of art combine: dance, acting, music and literature. The axis of the performance is the relationship between parents and adult children and efforts to talk about what is painful, silent, but real - what we do not dare or can tell each other.
The stage features live music and tells two stories that focus on one home. The first is the concept of freedom and love according to the story of the American writer Richard Bach "Jonathan Livingston Seagull". The second is the theme of guilt and misunderstanding, the creators of the performance, sharing their personal experiences during rehearsals and becoming the subject of a young Lithuanian playwright Mindaugas Nastaravičius.
According to director Vidas Bareikis, "Journey Home" is a performance about a childhood home, trying to think about who they are, when we go out of them and why we come back: Where do that misunderstanding and differences between parents and children come from? What would it be like to sit down one day and talk about everything? Just like the nearest people, ”the performance director asks.
The performance does not only express the position of not only children but also at home by some of the rest of the parents. If adult children talk about dance, then parents speak with organic texts of M. Nastaravčius, asking, "It's easy for you to leave. You can leave everything and leave. And then suddenly come back and say - good evening, here are we, do you miss?
