The cult performance "The Heart of the Dog" is based on the story of Mikhail Bulgakov, director Valerij Zolotuchin, only November 4th. At the Polish Culture House.
Moscow, 1920s. The time of the big changes, when the old world is collapsing and a new one is built on its ruins. Professor Preobraženski creates a miracle of medicine - turning a homeless dog into a man. However, an experiment promising a scientific breakthrough turned into a disaster. The new "man" named a polygraph Sharikov, which turns out, is not a carrier of culture and mind, and his behavior is not only rude and ignorant, but also destructive.

"The Heart of the Dog" is one of Mikhail Bulgakov's most sharp and satirical works, which remains frighteningly relevant today. Bulgakov, the genius of the word, predicted the dangers of the blind faith in social experiments and the desire to "improve" the world at all costs.

The modern staging of the performance not only revives the classic story, but also gives it a new sound. The images of the characters, recognizable intonations of the era, the precise acting of actors and the highlighting storyline create a powerful stage narrative of human nature, power and morality.
The performance involves viewers in the atmosphere of Bulgakov's mysticism and satire and at the same time makes them wonder what experiments are acceptable to the public and what they can lead to.

The performance of director Valery Zolotuchin has been constantly attracted to full spectator halls for 15 years. His "dog heart" interpretation is not only an intriguing storyline, drama, satire and grotesque, but also a strong reminder: any change must come from the heart, not to be forcibly installed from the outside.
