Rosenkranc and Gildenstern, one of the most important contemporary theater playwrights, Apologist of the Absurd Theater, "RosenCrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead) was first played in London, The Old Vic theater in April 1967. Then Stoppard was little known by a beginner playwright, a theater critic. In the playwright's will, two modest William Shakespeare's play "Hamlet" characters Rozenkranc and Gildenstern, or people who did not say no on time, became heroes of modern dramaturgy and our time.
The well -known classic W. Shakespeare's storyline in the play is masterfully played by: Prince Hamlet's Childhood and Studies at German University, Rosenkranc and Gildensn Hamlet's father, King Claudius invite him to escort the prince to England. The king gives them a secret letter asking them to put his head to the legitimate heir to the crown. Rosenkranc and Gildenstern accompany Hamlet into a definite death, but the prince successfully binds the letter to the trap of destiny.
Contemporary dramaturgy researchers emphasize that the play "Rosenkranc and Gildenstern are dead" is wittyly fused by classic Shakespearean dramaturgy and budding literary experiments, aesthetics of absurdity, and intellectual puzzles, virtuosic play of words with English irony. Hamlet's story is told by the playwright from the two secondary players, Rosenkranco and Gildensno, of W. Shakespeare's play, turned them into major. The effect this created, as if creating a Hamlet somewhere behind the scenes, was left on a video camera - the background of the texts of W. Shakespeare's texts sounds, the Opalia, Polonius and Hamlet himself disappear, and T. Stoppard's characters are trying to understand what their true role is in this confusion.
Director Yuriy Butusov says he especially appreciates the possibilities of this already classic poetry of the so -called play and the opportunities dictated by the classical absurdity. "Rosenkranc and Gildenstern dead" are very aptly hitting today's context, pain and should remind viewers the lost impossibility of paradise, human fullness, harmony, happiness. The illusion of J. Butusov will reveal and strengthen the laconic, unexpected materials and textures at the theater theater, the scenography and costumes created by the artist Marius Nekrošius. This play is built for the first time in the Lithuanian Theater.
