Live music, jazzing, almost voice -speaking bodies, a sense of freedom and rampant, dance radiated, elegance - "Lindyhopera", which will pull out of everyday life, awaken the sleeping life, transfuse sleeping blood. All this and a fun evening will be guaranteed by the energy of the vintage jazz ensemble The Schwings Band, the architecture of motion designed by choreographer Elzė Vishnevskytė, and the composer Remio Ranish, a swing cascade.
The main playwright of the performance is the body, or more precisely, the actors of the Old Theater of Vilnius and their bodies. Director - music and rhythm. It is not for nothing that jazz, swing has become synonymous with freedom, and Lindyhop is undoubtedly a rehearsal of freedom. Jazz dancing (Charlston, Black Bottom, Stepas, Lindyhop, tricks, solo jazz, Balboa etc.) and was born out of the need for liberation and joy.
Jazz is all and everywhere, its language -based rhythm, improvisation, individuality and expression. These elements have the power to create identity, connection with yourself and others. Jazz dancing was born and evolved as club dances, but was danced both on the streets and on home sites. Lindyhop is an extremely energetic pair of dance born in the 1920s in Harlem, New York, in the Black Community.
The performance explores the relationship between freedom and structure. Is freedom possible without boundaries, no structures? Can the structure provide security? What freedom do we seek? How and what does jazz say today, what can you teach?
Live music, choreography creates a theater miracle that we all look forward to every day as a promise, though never come true. This fiesta of expression is all: young, mature, elderly, who likes jazz and does not want to think about "serious affairs", y. toddlers. No one is lost here.
