In "Oceano Mare" by Alessandro Baricco, completely different people gather at the remote seaside Almajerio hotel. Everyone has their own world, experiences their own drama. It's like a session of collective solitude on the seashore. Being together by the sea intertwines and changes their lives. Every visitor has an intimate relationship with the sea. Some came for treatment, others - hoping to escape from problems, illusions, and misfortunes. An artist who has wanted to paint the sea all his life, but doesn't know where to start. A scientist who devoted his life to the study of the boundaries of the sea. A woman sent to the sea by her husband to "treat" betrayal. A mysterious girl of extraordinary beauty, sent to the sea to recover from her fear of living. Or are they all here by chance? The "hosts" of the hotel are three children, as if they are the guides of these people. The secret is up to you.
Basically, everyone is looking for something in their sea. yourself? Answers? Medicines? Salvation? Hope? Will you forget? "Sea Ocean" is a story of love, revenge, in the background of which you can hear the roaring, rippling sea, the teeth of the waves, which try to bite off the shore, your soul, a part of your anxiety.
"...there are three kinds of people: those who live by the sea, those who venture into the sea and learn to return alive." (Alessandro Baricco)
"The hotel by the sea becomes a purgatory. There is no sense of time or space here. The sea becomes an inevitability, where everything began and to which one must return. The sea becomes intangible, only its idea remains. In "Sea in the Ocean", each character asks themselves the fundamental question - how to solve the sea and its secret, because if everyone solves the secret of the sea, everyone will solve part of their own secret. I myself grew up on the shore of the sea, I spent most of my life trying to solve its mystery and searching for answers to my fundamental questions. It was while watching the sea that the idea of the stage interpretation of "Sea Ocean" was born." (Jacob Brazys)
