Do you remember the fairy tale of Cinderella? An angry stepmother forcing a girl to do heavy housework? The king's invitation to a feast? A pumpkin turned into a carriage, fancy gilded clothes, the ticking of the clock, canceling the magical spell of the fairy godmother at exactly midnight. And the lost magical crystal shoe and meeting the Prince? This is the story of an orphan girl who, despite suffering a lot, being humiliated and oppressed by her stepmother and stepsisters, managed to wait for happiness and recognition and fulfill her dreams.
The new interpretation of Cinderella is presented by the duo of long-time theater playwright, director Nijolė Indriūnaitė and artist Aušra Paukštienė. At the "Lėlė" theater, the audience is recognized by the visually rich and spiritually uplifting shadow theater performances {"White Fairy Tales", "The Snow Queen"}, the musically playful play "Flower Stories" that discusses fundamental values in the language of puppets.
Together, the authors create a sense of a magical time on stage, and that time, according to the director of the performance, is magical when we (people) meet, when we feel happy, when we help each other to have it.
The classic story of Cinderella, based on the play "Magic Shoes" by Nijolė Indriūnaitė, will invite young viewers to immerse themselves in the search for a magical time. And when is that time magical? The miniature characters living in the fairy tale box will remind you how fragile time can be and how valuable it is to meet each other.
