Alytus City Theater performance "Merė Poppins" (based on P. Travers, directed by A. Sunklodaitė) is a performance about how important it is for children to have an adult nearby. The person who spends the most time with him teaches the child knowledge of life phenomena, communication, empathy, develops his creativity, love and curiosity for the environment, people, and the world by his example and being interested. And it is also a play for children, inviting them to look at the world with different eyes more often and to see what is already invisible to most adults.
Modern Mary Poppins - strange, different nannies the character is an actress who currently does not have a job in the theater, but has a huge imagination, loves and understands children immensely. "Merry Poppins should sound particularly relevant today, when it comes to children's needs to know the world by themselves - by exploring it and expanding the boundaries of reality." The performance also uses the elements of the theater of objects, - the strangest miracles are created with the help of the ingenuity of Merė Popins. She pulls out dolls, cups, bowls, spoons, bottles, mirrors, clothes and their details, spotlights, which turn into a magical children's world in the nanny's hands. During the performance, the attributes of modern technology are not avoided: video projections, computers, telephones, a car controlled by radio waves. But they work here only as scenography elements, with the aim of reminding both children and parents that the most important thing is time together.
