Who hasn't dreamed of going on an adventurous trip down the rabbit hole with little Alice as a child? Be small, be big, meet the ever-rushing Rabbit, the smiling, appearing, disappearing Cheshire Cat, the wise Caterpillar or the imperious Queen of Hearts - experience it all as an endless adventure in Wonderland! This Wonderland awaits you all at the premiere of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater, the children's opera Alice in Wonderland by Israeli composer David Sebba'a. Director Gad Schechter from Israel, conductors Martynas Staškus and Adomas Jankovič, painters Gintarė Jonaitytė, Marta Vosyliūtė and Andrius Ringevičius tell a humorous and colorful story on the stage of the theater, while choreographer Jūratė Sodytė creates dances for all the characters. The libretto of the opera was written by the composer himself, translated into Lithuanian by Kristina Gudelytė-Lasman. Composer D. Sebba says that his opera is about children who are gifted with imagination, who like to dream, and when such children grow up, they eventually become Mozarts and Edisons. However, even though it is an opera about children, the director G. Schechter emphasizes that it is a play for the whole family - it talks about meaningful things that will be important to parents of children as well. So let's all travel together with Alice to Wonderland!
