Excursion in Pašis. Monastery and Church (Description)
We will visit the former Camaldolese monastery in Pažaislis, which is considered one of the most beautiful Baroque ensembles in the Baltic States!
Pažaislis Camaldolese Monastery and Blessed. Kristupas Zigmantas Pacas, Chancellor of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, established the Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in the second half of the 17th century. Today, the monastery has been counting more than three centuries -old, legendary history, fascinating with an exceptional baroque appearance and colorful environment around it. During this excursion we will open the door of Pažaislis Monastery and find out about the monks and other monastery owners, its founders and the most famous masters of that time, we will mention the secrets of murals. The start of the tour is Pažaislis Monastery (T. Masiulis St., Kaunas) at the cashier, where a professional guide will be waiting. Accompanied by a guide, we will travel around the former Monte Pacis Camaldolese Monastery, and we will also visit the Blessed One. Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary. The tour will take about 2 hours, the end of the Pažaislis Monastery Museum.
This tour takes place outdoors and indoors (church). Comfortable footwear and weather outfit are recommended.
