2025 June 4 An exclusive concert of the Pažaislis Music Festival will take place in the Pažaislis Monastery, in which the world-famous tenor Stephen Costello (USA) and the bass-baritone Kostas Smoriginas will take part. This concert will be conducted by the conductor of the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra. conductor Constantine Orbelian (USA), widely known for his many years of collaboration with the most famous opera singers. Stephen Costello is considered one of the most outstanding tenors of his generation, in 2007 debuted at the prestigious opening concert of New York's "Metropolitan Opera", and in 2009 winning the prestigious Richard Tucker Award. S. Costello's voice is heard in the world's most famous opera houses and festivals. in 2018 his and the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra's album "A Te, o Cara" was nominated for the "Grammy" awards.
Kostas Smoriginas, today called one of the world's most promising bass-baritones, began his international opera career at the Berlin State Opera in 2009, performing the role of Escamillo in G. Bizet's opera Carmen. Since then, the soloist's various roles have been greeted with ovations in the world's largest opera theaters in Europe, the USA, and Asia. The soloists will be accompanied by the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra, with whom C. Orbelian has recorded 20 albums over the past decade, four of which were even nominated for Grammy awards. At the concert in the courtyard of the Pažaislis Monastery, Mario Lanza's most beautiful songs and the most famous opera arias will be played - don't miss the chance to listen to world music stars!
