Saturday, February 7, 1:00 p.m. A creative polyester plate lithography workshop will be held in KKKC Art Yard (Daržų St. 10) with artist Jolanta Mikulskyte, who is exhibiting this art in her personal exhibition "Beyond the Surface" in the Exhibition Hall of the Klaipėda Cultural Communication Center (KKC).
During the creative workshop, you will have the opportunity to create and print an original miniature using the polyester lithography technique.
Polyester plate lithography is a non-toxic, chemical-free process that uses a design created with water-resistant drawing media.
The number of participants is limited, it is necessary to purchase a ticket to the workshop in advance.
*Lithography (litho-+ gr.graphō- I write) is a lithographic graphic technique, one of the youngest printing techniques. Its base is lithographic stone (limestone). The elements to be printed are drawn on the surface of the stone with a fat pencil, crayons, lithographic ink, then etched with gum arabic and a mixture of different strengths of gum and acid. Current lithography combines different media, wider resolutions: dry lithography (algraphy), offset lithography, photolithography, various combinations: polyester lithography + stone, aluminum plate lithography, etc. extremely wide resolution: drawing, ink strokes, coloring, photography, montages, different grain sizes, etc. Therefore, I use and develop lithographic expressions in my creative processes.
