in the cultural, political, social and society's sovereignty.
December 4, 2025 St. The Catherine's Church will feature a special premiere - Travel Guide to Nicaragua, a cycle of American composer Michael Gordon, and the cello and choir. It is an hour -long concert autobiographical work for 24 votes and cello solo, telling about the journey of the Jewish refugee family from Poland to Nicaragua. The European premiere of the work will be performed by cellist Gleb Pyšniak, the choir young music and maestro Vaclovas Augustinas. www.jaunamuzika.lt
The piece depicts a long and complex journey of the composer's family himself from the town of Zietela (then Poland) to the United States through Cuba and Nicaragua. The musical drawing is constructed as the intersection of memory facts and experiences, creating a bold musical synthesis, where Gordon's rhythmic innovations connect with what The New Yorker describes as "punk rock rage, a nervous FREE Jazz shine and classical modernism." This piece is a musical tale of people's destinies, what ideology, individual individuals' decisions that are implemented from power positions, when other people become meaningless. The main theme of the concert is the people around the world, who are scattered around the world, who do not know and know their relatives, family members, who do not know the fates of their grandparents and parents. What is their relationship with the past, the present and their expectations for the future. And the main question we would like to answer - can we manage our lives or decisions to those who are in power? The work is created by the Carnegie Hall Hall and Penn Live Arts University of Pennsylvania. The premiere took place in 2022 Carnegie Hall in New York.
This autobiographical opus was created together with Laurie Ollerler, a painter and photographer of American multimedia, who will be visualized by the visualization of this work at the time of the work. Laurie Olinder is one of the founders of the New York Theater Ridge Theater, awarded the Obie (Off-Broadway) Award, New York Dance and Experior Bessie Award and Eliot Norton Award for exclusive theater design.
