Do we always know the person next to us who lives with us? Do we always know everything about a man, a woman - co-worker, neighbor, our life partner, friend, companion, our one and only?

Maybe not always. Although we claim that we know each other, we know the body, we understand the soul, we anticipate every step of our partner, but sometimes the stage of life spent together turns out to be full of surprises, like a desert mirage.

Sometimes life seems to laugh at our certainty, convictions, knowledge... Because we can't say anything or almost nothing about another... And sometimes we can't tell anything more about ourselves either.

Two unknown men meet at the fresh grave of a woman in a large city cemetery. It turns out that they came here to pay their respects to the same woman they love...

Lionel Goldstein was born in London (August 22, 1935), where he lives until now. He started attending school only at the age of 10, after the Second World War. He never studied because he started working at the age of 15, tried furrier, machinist, hairdresser and other professions. in 1956 he went to Australia as a barber on a liner in the British Merchant Navy. In his spare time, he started writing short stories and short stories.

In 1979. signed his first contract with BBC television. Since then, a very productive collaboration with various British TV channels began. in 1983 HBO has released Mr. Halpern and Mr. Johnson, based on L. Goldstein's play, David and Edward, starring Laurence Olivier and Jackie Gleason. This production won the award for the best TV play of the year.

The play "Davydas y Eduardas" is popular and performed all over the world: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Israel, USA, France, Uruguay, Germany and elsewhere. in 2020 Czech TV also made a film based on this play ("Pan Halpern a pan Johnson").
