This story is about time. Not the one that is counted by watches or calendars. And that is inner, human, perceptible. The time you need to look, friendship, thought, play. The one that is increasingly gone. Have you noticed that we are increasingly saying, "I have no time"? That we are talking less and less, playing, just being ..? That more and more people are getting tired, irritated, sad - as if something quiet, but constantly taking something away from them?
The city of shadows is a world very similar to ours. There are people who are constantly in a hurry, planning, saving - until one day they start to understand who all this is. Invisible gray gentlemen, savings masters, secretly stealing time, and the joy of life. People no longer go with each other, children no longer play, no one is surprised by how the colors are slowly disappearing.
And then Momo appears. She is not a heroine in a traditional sense. She has no superpower, just knows how to listen. And when the world begins to sink into the shadows, she dares to go on a magical journey to look for time.
It is a visually poetic story about the importance of stopping, hearing and being able to be. Perhaps time is not an asset that needs to be saved, but a gift worth sharing?
The project is funded by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania.
