Bekomclap & Slap
The performance CALL & SLOP is exploring the complex and paralyzing tension, which emerged in Eastern Europe (especially between Lithuania and Belarus) after a large -scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. February 24th This tension is analyzed by historical, political, geographical and social sections, using the personal experiences of Agnie and Igor. Actively involved in 2020 In the events of the Belarusian Revolution, Igor protested in his country and Agniene at the Belarusian Embassy in Vilnius. Igor was forced to leave his homeland; Agnietė decided not to work with Russian -speaking artists. Today, when meeting on the same scene, two artists try to start a dialogue that seems impossible outside the art of art: the dialogue between fear and the need to act, between collective and personal responsibilities, between personal tragedy and geopolitical disaster. In addition to the naive ambition to find solutions for political or military conflicts, the performance seeks to awaken political and philosophical reflection on our ability to distinguish our responsibility and guilt, nationalism and patriotism, self -defense and aggression, the desire to trust and the need to defend. How do you balance the need to defend yourself and the risk of reproducing the aggression we fight against? Can we respect each other's differences, adhere to personal beliefs and defend individual freedoms without violating other rights? These are questions that Agniene and Igor opens with their viewers.
