2025 On November 5-9, the International Folklore Festival "Pokrov Bells" will celebrate its 20th anniversary in Vilnius. The event that combines cultural education, scientific and educational parts has long occupied a unique place in the cultural life of the Lithuanian capital. During this anniversary, the festival gives meaning to an important event-the 150th anniversary of the birth of M. K. Čiurlionis.
November 7 at 6 p.m. A traditional concert of the festival "Pokrov Bells" "Music for Gourmets" will take place in Catherine's Church, which promises to be impressive and unique. For 2 decades, the festival has been delighting loyal viewers with its unique programs, presenting both Lithuanian and foreign folklore traditions. Listeners will have the opportunity to enjoy unique examples of folk songs and traditional choreography performed by folklore ensembles from Lithuania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Spain, Latvia, Poland, Norway, Sacramento, Serbia, Ukraine, Germany.
The exclusivity of the festival lies in its deep respect for traditional folklore and UNESCO protected cultural heritage values. Values such as Armenian Duduk music, archaic vocal polyphony singing traditions from Latvia, Ukrainian Cossack songs, Lithuanian conventional, Lithuanian Old Believers' singing traditions will be presented. This is just part of what viewers can hear and see during the festival. Concerts will provide a unique opportunity to get to know the culture of other nations through folk songs, dances and other examples of traditional choreography.
