Coroi e Ponti: When the hearts meet - the bridges stretch
In the 17th century. Italian vocal music
Rūta Vox, vocals (Lithuania)
Francesco Addabbo, harpsichord (Italy)
In the 17th century. The concert for Italian vocal music houses bridges - between epochs, countries and people's hearts. These are bridges from the past, where the music of the talented Baroque women, Francescos and Settimios Caccini, sounds alongside their fellow Stefan Landi's art. Love becomes not only the axis of life but also in creative work, like Barbara Strozzi's heart connection with teacher Francesco Cavalli. Geographic bridges are also built; This time they are between Lithuania and Italy. The world of Vladislav Vaza, King of Poland and King of Lithuania, meets the musical vision of Francescos Caccini and Marco Scacchi. All of them are united by a common passion for a new genre, an opera that contains the inexhaustible power of poetry and drama. Finally, it sounds invisible, but strongly felt bridges of love - between the nation and the man, between justice and the inner truth. They are embodied by the characters who have reached us from the stories of Scripture and from church music barters: Judith, Susan, Mary Magdalene - eternal symbols of love, strength and light. Ruth and Francesco met fifteen years ago in Italy, Vicenza, where the Pedrollo of the Conservatory of this city studied old music. Both were particularly fascinated by the music of the Italian Baroque era - lively, sensual, full of dramatism. After her studies, the roads divorced - Ruth returned to Lithuania, and Francesco went to Switzerland. This year, after a long break, they meet on stage again, walking together with musical bridges, allowing them to sound alive in their hearts. Rūta Vox (Rūta Vosyliūtė) graduated from prof. S. Stonytė (2009), went to Italy and studied a Master's degree in Renaissance and Baroque singing (2011) while studying at Vichenza A. Pedrollo Conservatoire. 2018 LMTA defended his doctoral degree. The goal of Rūta Vosyliūtė's creative activity is to spread Baroque music in Lithuania. 2014 After returning to Lithuania after studying in Italy, he organized six extremely rare Italian Baroque music recitals in the Palace of the Grand Dukes. In the same year, with Eve Baublyte and Vilimas Norkūnas, the old music ensemble "Light" (Chiaaroscuro), who constantly creates new conceptual programs and performs at various festivals of old music. Ruth's passion is the Baroque opera. In recent years, she has been singing in many Baroque opera productions in Lithuania and Latvia. From 2020 She directs the LMTA Baroque Master's degree program.
Francesco Addabbo is a harpsichord, organist and opera accompanist, specializing in Baroque vocal music. He studied in Italy (Bario and Vicenza Conservatoires) and Switzerland (Bern Higher Art School and Geneva Higher Music School) with Angel Annes, Patrizia Marisaldi, Riccardo Mascia, Pascale van Coppenolle and Béatrice Martin. Has participated in many harpsichords and organism courses in Italy, France and Switzerland (Roy Goodman, Christophe Rousset, Enrico Baian, Alfonso Fedi, Harald Vogel, Léon Berben, Center de Musique Baroque de Versailles, etc.).
