The spectators, one of the most spectacular musical performances of the ensemble Lietuva, return to the stage - the mystery "Gods and People". This fall, performances will only take place in three cities - October 11th. In Vilnius, October 24 Klaipeda and November 7 In Kaunas.
It is a modern interpretation of Baltic culture, combining old hymns and electronic music, modern and classic dance, ritual rites. We will see a complementary, innovative performance scenography - multi -layered projections that create the impression of a three -dimensional image, where collages of paintings by Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis will be revived.
The further the past it becomes, the more mysterious it becomes, the more mysterious it is - we are trying to "let it". When studying myths, old songs and hymns, many Baltic codes "speak" by comparing the texts of chronicles. With great respect, we look at the past through the wide gate of imagination, the eyes of the 21st century.
Since 2019 The performance - mystery and its numerous tours of Lithuania formed a full hall of spectators, culture and art fans and foreign guests. The spectacle did not leave indifferent: he was excited to tears, was amazed at the scenography, admired the professionalism of the artists and the talent of the creators.
"Everything is real, deep, a lot of recognizable signs, and not only from the old Lithuanian worldview ... The finale is worthy with Čiurlionis' Tale," said Lithuanian ethnomusicologist, doctor of humanities, Vilnius Romuva and Chairman of the Council of Ethnic Culture. dr. Dalia Urbanavičienė.
In the performance - the mystery "Gods and People", the archaic Baltic worldview of the people is conveyed - the relationship with religion, tribe, and various customs and rites are depicted. This is revealed by telling an old legend about the love story of the guardian of the Holy Fire Vaidilutė and the nobleman, which is full of passion and painful experiences. Perhaps the most intimate scene of the mystery is the act of love. Through the dance, a subtly depicting life is the power of the gods sown in man's power to create another man.
The mystery sounds the electronic compositions of the original composers Linas Rimša and Aro sparrow. There are also archaic hymns, Lithuanian folk songs, and contractual manages created by these composers.
"Restoding" Baltic culture was conceived by the director of the performance Leokadija Dabuzhinskaitė, the winner of the Government Culture and Art Prize, the President Dalia Grybauskaitė was awarded the Order of Merit to Lithuania with the Knight's Cross. L. Dabužinskaitė also directed more of the Lithuanian ensemble programs - a concert "Singing Freedom", the oratory of freedom "13" and the concert "Eisva Mudu Abudu".
