Rumors and mysticism are the story of Mary Egyptian is the point from which the creators of the performance resist. She is forced to sell her body to a woman who lived in the 4th century. In Alexandria, he traveled to Jerusalem with pilgrims. Still, the gate at the Holy Tomb was closed to her. After that, she wandered in the desert for many years, looking for repentance and peace.

What could the story of the 21st Century Mary Egypt, wandering around the urban "desert" and looking for liberation? Have you become less violence in our society more civilized? Did it become more empathetic? More lenient? More tolerant? Finally, less patriarchal?

Today, Mary Egypt can be every woman - mom, daughter, sister, wife, every day, the sharp boundary between the holy and the sinful.

In this premiere, OKT/Vilnius City Theater will invite you to enter another unexplored and this time extremely awkward but especially important X territory. "Sventoji" is the area of coercion where a woman who has been suffering for violence and addiction for a lifetime discovers the strength to get out of her crisis and to choose a radically different direction of life. It is a performance about a woman's survival in a radical patriarchal society full of violence for a woman.
